Physical Education DepartmentThere are 3 teachers in the PE department, all with bachelor degrees. The team work is practised under the principle of Health First. All sports activities and skills we do with students are designed to achieve this end. Also an emphasis has been put on developing an interest and understanding of sports as a way of life in students. Students in G1 and G2 are taught separately with differing activities and workloads due their physical differences. Areas of teaching include track & field, basketball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, gymnastics and aerobics (for girls). For A1 and A2 students, they choose an event that suits them and get taught in their own group for that event, but track and field is a common subject for everyone. Each teacher teaches 20 periods per week, covering a total number of 180 - 200 students We have the following sports facilities: a small running track, basketball courts, a 5-a-side soccer pitch, badminton hall, table tennis hall and a small gym. Each year, besides regular PE lessons, we have school-wide competitions in tug-of-war, basketball, badminton, soccer and table tennis. The biggest sporting occasion of the year is the Sports Days which lasts for two days and is held at a much bigger oval at a different school.
